Hi! Welcome to my blog. You are about to read my farewell story in the UK. Well, I have written this content long long ago (in January 2016 I think), but I still have no time to finish it. So, here are my stories. I hope you enjoy. :)

24 January 2016

This is my last day to go to church "Union Hall" in Manchester before I go home. From the first time I arrived in the UK, I was so confused about which church I have to go because it is not simple like Indonesia. In the UK, there is a lot of type of church (anglikan, evangelish, charismatic, etc.) I don't know what is the difference between those churches. So, I started googling and tried the church one by one. In the first month, I went to different church every Sunday, but I still didn't feel like I belong to that church. I also thought "maybe I won't try any church any more because it will be the same. I will just stay at home and watch online church services". But luckily, my mom and my church friends in Indonesia kept encouraging me to keep trying. Until finally I came to Union Hall and I feel comfortable because their Sunday service was similar with the one I have in Indonesia.

Since then, I always went to Union Hall, but after the Sunday Service I went home and not socialise. Until the christmas time, I regret. I should have socialise with others because they are very nice people! (See my Christmas story). They also gave me a lot of new experiences and knowledge because there is a lot of international students there (China, Singapore, American, Hongkong, Rome). But yeah, I feel grateful to have known them. I know I will miss them and miss the moment I have there.

Union Hall International Friends from Indonesia, Singapore, Hongkong, Korea to Romania. Love them! I regret I didn't use time wisely in Union Hall.

7 January 2016

Hey ya! I have just submitted my last assignment which means no more school, no more assignment and no more deadline! Now I just need to enjoy my two and half months holiday. Quite long, huh? Yup I feel like a high school student after national exam (UN), but I believe I will feel it not-so-long because I am going to enjoy it too much. Enjoy every second of my very last moment in the UK. Hope my holiday will be fun and can't wait to go home. I will try to forget the feedback deadline date and enjoy my holiday. I don't want to feel sad or disappointed any more!! I hope (really really hope) I get good feedback as I don't want to retake any subjects on my home university if I get bad marks. I am an exchange, I am supposed to not worry too much on my marks and more experience it!

Today is also my last day to meet my Chinese flatmates, as they will go back to China tomorrow!! So saddd :( I can't believe I nearly finish my exchange and have to say the hardest word "goodbye" to everything (I really mean it. everything. every moment. everyone.) Actually, on the night before my Chinese flatmates went back to home, I didn't sleep at all. I was awake all night long because I was too overthinking. And I also didn't feel I was ready to leave my flat that I have already lived for 4 months. I will miss how I sleep alone and I can do anything inside my room alone and did the cleaning every Saturday :(

The saddest part was on the next day. When I went out of my room, I always looked at my friends window (one of them is Tong). Everyday, I could see flowers bloom from her window. But after they gone......... All I see was just a black empty room. :(((

Pardon my face in all those photos because it was taking at night after cooked and ate.

Let me introduce you to my Chinese flatmates.

Zuo Hanshuo is really tall, I feel like dwarf hahaha. He is the one who usually said I am fat lol. He is a postgraduate student of Animation and he is a good chef. He is planning to take doctoral programme (S3) in Korea. WOW. Because his dream is to be a lecturer, it's not because he likes teaching, but because he loves holiday! WKWK he said as a lecturer, he will get much more holiday than any other job.

Tong Li, usually we call her Tong. She is beautiful but really like to show funny faces in the photo, even she use "hifunnyface" as her Instagram ID. She is an undergraduate student of Graphic Design, she really likes drawing. Once I went to her bed room, the wall was full with her drawing! So cute.

Jun Ni. I remembered the first time I call his name literally Jun-ni, but actually I am wrong. Because in Chinese, it should be called Ni-Cui. He is a transferred student from Shanghai (Media Design) to Salford (Business).

Wang Tian Qi. The first time I heard his name, I thought about a grow up pill called Tian Qi. He is an undergraduate student of Animation. He is a unique guy because he always plays and does his work all night long (11 pm-7 am). And he sleeps all day long. So I hardly ever meet him at day time. However, he is also a good chef! I remembered he cooked a spicy noodle for me. What a kind guy!

Fu Yudi. She is a good fashion designer! And absolutely very fashionable hahaha.

One of the similarities of my Chinese flatmates is they really like shopping! hahaha.

19 December 2015

By the way, I have finished my class since December before Christmas (14-18 December 2015) and already say goodbye to my classmates and lectures.

On 19th December I also have a first and farewell hang-out with my Czech friend in Manchester Piccadilly (City Centre). We went to Christmas market, went around and have a dinner together. We spent so much fun on that day, we talked about some interesting topics (from religion to relationship). She thought Indonesian language is funny and laughed at "diculik" which means "kidnapped" in English. It's fun to talk with someone from different country and found out interesting things and the most importantly, I learned something from them.

Excuse my chubby cheeks!

Michaela, my Czech friend, is in the middle. This was taken on our farewell hangout on Christmas Market. She was a lucky girl! because after high school, she decided to explore the world first to find her passion instead of going to the college. She has travelled to a lot of cities, especially Europe.

Richard Hewett. In my opinion, he was the best lecture that has ever taught me in Salford. His explanation and pronounciation is clear and he made the teaching-learning activity very fun because I have the opportunity to know and watch UK TV programme in his seminar classes. I also know and love Sherlock because he made me to analyse the Sherlock episode 1, then I found it very interesting!

Hannah Fillingham. This is one my friends, but actually we just talked for several times. But she is a very kind girl! She invites me to talk when I "seemed" to be alone. HAHA. Thanks Hannah for being nice to me.

Ric Michael, my lecture for Content Creation for Multi Media-Platform.

The filming day. Actually I was not in their team. However on the filming day, due to lack of crews, I helped them to be a cameraman.

Ellis Robin, my kind personal tutor that help me for the subject matters while I was in Salford. I am pretty sure his face and body language look like an actor, but I don't know who!

Lyndon Saunders, a practitioner in ITV Channel (a big UK channel after BBC). He helps Ric in Content Creation for Multi Media-Platform.

This is Debra Prinselaar, my lecture for Video Production class. She taught me a lot of things (start from the basic) about how to operate camera and tripod. In her subject, I produced 2 projects (documentary video about Zimbabwe Busker and Interpretation Drama of Sherlock). If you are curious, go check it on my Youtube Channel "Amelia Stephanie".

The last day of class. Actually the class members are more than this.

Debra Prinselaar is my lecture for TV, Film Production. She is a cheerful woman from New Zealand. She also has a lot of experiences in TV industry as she was a production team in ITV (well-known UK TV Channel after BBC).

Last but not least. Professor Abigail is one of the most helper person when it comes to registration. She helped me to register for exchange programme and maybe she was the one who actually made my dream comes true! Because without her, maybe I won't be able to go for the exchange programme due to the late registration.

Besides all of the above, I also joined Indonesian Fellowship in Manchester (IFMAN). I met a lot of kind Indonesian people that help me.

These two photos was taken when we were practising for Christmas choir.

This is Kak Nanu from PPI GM (Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia in Greater Manchester). He is very helpful and very kind! He was the one who helped Icha and I from the preparation (in Jakarta) until we finished our exchange.

So, this is the farewell from me to UK, all the memories and people that help me to get along. I am so grateful that I have the chance to join this exchange programme. I feel like one of my dream that seemed impossible in the past, finally come true. I still remember how hard I pray for those days in the UK until finally it came true. Even when I was in UK, I still can't believe that it was really happened. Thank you GOD! :)

Regards,

Amelia Stephanie
